Spc. Justin Slagle returns to Forward Operating Base Lane in a UH-60 Black Hawk helicopter after an air assault mission in the Zabul province of Afghanistan, Oct. 15, 2009. Even as leaders in Washington struggle with the next steps in Afghanistan, troops there are moving to better protect the Afghan people by separating them from Taliban influence and intimidation.

"We swear an oath to the Constitution, not to a man, even if he makes a thrill run up your leg when he talks." ~ Stewart Rhodes

Well, I wasn't able to watch Stewart kick some big Gov/statists on the Chris Matthews Show. But. Accordingy to Mike over at Sipsey Street Irregulars, there should be a youtube video up soon of the segment.

The Money quote is the header for this post. And made me all warm and fuzzy reading it.

Go check out the report from Mike at Sipsey Street. I'll update when I find a link to the video, or someone else posts it.

“most people back home dont even know, no one gives a shit”

I have to say, when I read this at TAH, I was shocked to say the least.
I don't care if you think would should be in Afghanistan or not. This is still a tragic loss of life.
I don't even know if any of the scouts I served with are in 361 Cav. good possibility, but one never knows. All I can say is B troop lived up to the tradition of cavalrymen and stood by their buddies. donating blood in the midst of battle, wounded troopers refusing to be medevaced so they could stay and fight beside their fellow troopers. Brings a tear to my eye and makes me proud of them.

H/T to This Ain't Hell

More in fo at The Burnpit

Excerpt form the Burnpit:

In the battle for Combat Outpost Keating, the men of Bravo Troop 361 Cavalry lost every possession they had, save for the clothes on their backs. Following this blog posting is information on how to donate to the Combat Outpost Keating Relief Fund. These men have lost friends, their outpost, and all their belongings. One soldier who made it out wrote that “most people back home dont even know, no one gives a shit”. Well, many of us do. And you can prove it by giving whatever you can. These guys need things like running shoes, and other essentials, as well as some comfort items like iPods and DVD players. The American Legion has kicked in $1000 to start the fund, and your humble blogger will be the first to donate $100. I intend to get these items out by the end of next week. ANY amount you can give, no matter how small will help us prove that we care.

Well, I searched google for some relevant images for 361 cav and got nothing...sometimes I wonder about google...i got so much unrelated crap it made me ill.

For our brother Troopers who paid the ultimate price:

Halfway down the trail to hell
in a shady meadow green
Are the souls of all dead troopers
camp'd near a good ol' time canteen
And this eternal resting place
is known as Fiddler's Green
Marching past straight through to hell
the Infantry are seen
Accomp'nied by the Engineers, Artillery and Marine
For none but the shades of Cavalrymen
dismount at Fiddler's Green
Though some go curving down the trail to seek a warmer scene
No cavalryman ever gets to hell e'r he's eptied his canteen
And so rides back to drink again
with friends at Fiddler's Green
And so when man and horse go down
Beneath a sabre keen
Or in a roaring charge of fierce melee
you stop a bullet clean
and the hostiles come to get your scalp
just empty your canteen
and put your pistol to you head
And go to fiddler's green

Godspeed brothers...

SCOUTS OUT!

Lying F**ing lying F**ing liar.
This is freakin ridiculous. I am having a hard time containg the use of profanity here. this outrageousnous should not be allowed to happen. If I were there, I would have yelled out "You are a F***ing Liar asshole!" I would not put up with this garbage.

They can officially reprimand Joe Wilson for simply shouting you lie! And yet this crap is allowed to be presented?

I hope we can stay sane long enough to vote these jokers out of office.
