TOKYO — A man who police said "was tired of life" drove into a crowd of pedestrians Sunday and then went on a stabbing rampage in Tokyo's top electronics and video game district, killing seven people and wounding 10, authorities said.
The deadly lunchtime assault paralyzed the Akihabara neighborhood, which is wildly popular among the country's youth. The killings were the latest in a series of grisly knife attacks that have stoked fears of rising crime in Japan.
A 25-year-old man, Tomohiro Kato, was apprehended in the attack, authorities said.
"The suspect told police that he came to Akihabara to kill people," said Jiro Akaogi, a spokesman for the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department. "He said he was tired of life. He said he was sick of everything."
You know, if the citizens were armed, nutjobs like this would be dead and those 7 people might have lived. Apparently knife attacks are on the rise in Japan. SO, let's outlaw those too I guess...and while we're at it, let's outlaw trucks....absurdity.
But maybe I'm just a bitter middle class white American clinging to my guns....
Die with your boots on....

You are absolutely right, if someone would have had a gun a lot of people could have been saved. Just like in any other of the mass killings i.e. the colleges lives could have been saved if someone would have had a gun. But according to the people who never owned or don't know anything about guns, it is the gun holding citizen who is or will go on a killing rampage.
What is up with these "I am tired of life and have to kill myself" individuals anyway? Why do they have to take out other people? For all who want to kill themselves: Listen, if you want to kill yourself, go ahead, we really don't care. However, leave others out of it, it's not their fault that you are incapable dealing with life.
